Incorporated in 1969, Simi Valley offers its residents the desirable amenities of a big
city with the peace, security and quality of country living. Good schools, low crime rates,
high incomes and clean air make Simi Valley a great place to raise a family. Consistently
rated as one of the safest cities in the United States, Simi Valley residents are proud of
their police force which is made up of 116 sworn personnel and 62 civilian personnel serving
the community. The 55,000 square foot police headquarters building is located at the corner
of Tapo Canyon and Alamo Streets. The state-of-the-art facility is a landmark in Simi Valley
and is designed to aid and enhance the Department's commitment to community-oriented policing
and community service.
The County of Ventura provides fire protection to the Simi Valley community. A total of
five fire stations serve the area with 50 firefighters and three battalion chiefs. The
department boasts 10 fire engines, two ladder trucks, one water tender, one foam truck and
two utility vehicles.

The Simi Valley Unified School District provides quality education to over 21,243 students in grades K-12. An additional 8,146 students are enrolled in Adult Education classes. The 28 schools in our valley reflect the interest of our community which values young people and education. Simi Valley students consistently score above state and national averages on achievement tests. The district provides a wide array of educational programs that focus on college preparation, since approximately 80% of our high school students attend college after graduation. A wide variety of programs are also available for students with special needs.
Simi Valley Unified School District is comprised of 20 elementary, three middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, one performing arts/technology magnet high school, one alternative high school, and an adult education school.
In addition to the Simi Valley public school system there are many private schools and educational enrichment programs in the community. At the preschool level there is Grace Brethren Preschools with 2 campuses in town, Scribbles & Doodles Early Learning Academy and the Trinity Lutheran Church Preschool. For elementary age students Phoenix Ranch School, Good Shepard Lutheran, Grace Brethren Elementary and Pinecrest School offer full grade school programs and Grace Brethren Junior/Senior High School offers a complete high school curriculum.
The community takes pride in the hundreds of extracurricular programs and events throughout the year. The Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley and the Simi Valley YMCA both offer comprehensive childcare, youth and family facilities.
Higher education is a priority in Simi Valley. The Simi Valley Adult School provides vocational career training, community education, an academic high school program, and many other educational programs. Moorpark College is just minutes away and offers an extensive program of general, vocational and continuing education. Nearby California Lutheran University is an outstanding institution committed to liberal arts education and offering 32 majors as well as professional preparation programs in specific fields of study. Ventura College of Law in nearby Ventura, California provides a high quality legal education through a part-time evening program, leading to the award of a Juris Doctor degree and eligibility to sit for the California State Bar Examination.

Historic Corriganville Park, was once the home of Corriganville, a movie ranch and park owned
by Ray "Crash" Corrigan. It currently offers more than four miles of trails for running, biking,
equestrian and hiking. The trails provide stunning vistas, majestic sandstone cliffs, an ancient
oak forest, a year-round stream, shaded picnic areas, the Camp Rotary Youth Campground and picnic
shelter and much more. Many of the trails include informational posts describing past movie
events and information on the flora, fauna and some of the park's history.

in a modern, fun and interesting environment.The Library's archives house 50 million pages of
documents and over 1.5 million photographs, although the majority of the visitors come to view

the life and times of President Ronald Reagan.The Library hosts special events and celebrations

Reagan Freeway (Highway 118) runs the length of the city's east and west borders, easily connecting
